need help with wireless connection

I am new to Linux and just installed Ubuntu 10.04 along side windows 7 in dual boot mode. I am using an HP Pavilion dv9220us laptop computer. It has a built-in Broadcom 4321AG network adapter. As far as I can tell, Ubuntu does not recognize the adapter. How can I determine what the problem is and resolve it?

Hello,

If you have a wired internet connection, you can go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers and it should offer to install them for you.

Or from the terminal do

sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source bcmwl-modaliases

Afterwards do

sudo modprobe -r b43 ssb
sudo modprobe wl

or restart.

If you do not have internet access, the driver is also available on the installation disk, at /pool/restricted/b/bcmwl

Should be able to double click to install.

Thank you. I was able to find the driver in the hardware driver location listed above. It is working now.
