I have Toshiba A505 and I installed Ubuntu 10.04, but the Ubuntu doesn't recognize the USB ports. What shall I do? When I plug in a USB mouse the light on the mouth use to light but the curser doesn't move. And I can't mount any flash.

    Hi and Welcome !

Plug-in any Flash drive, open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages
    Post output here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Go into the BIOS settings and see how the USB is configured. Some settings won't work with Linux. I do know that the A505 does work with Ubuntu - my wife has one with 10.04 running happily on it right now.

I have set my POST DELAY in BIOS to 10 seconds so that the USB flash drives can charge-up (think that is right). Without that delay, my Flash Drives do not respond.
    Hope that idea helps.
