    Ubuntu shutting down

I recently got my laptop setup as an Ubuntu machine, but if I just leave it running, after a while I'll look over and see that it has shut down. I have gone through the power management options and I do not see anything there regarding this. So I was wondering if this is a feature in the 10.04 version?

Not an option that I've come across, and I've got 10.04 installed on one of my laptop partitions and have never come across any issues with it shutting down.
Are you sure that it is shutting down? Or could it be just hibernating?
Do you notice this when it's running on AC power, battery or both?

This is happening even when it is plugged in. I had other OSs on it and could leave it running for days. I did check to see if it was hibernating, but I hit the power button and it starts up fresh.

    Check the Screen Saver Options.
I do NOT let Screen Saver initiate any Power Management function.
I have had similar conflict between the two,
and it seems I had a different idea about what they do, than the programmer did.
