[SOLVED] Rhythmbox won't play MP3 podcasts

    Hi,

I get one of two errors when trying to play MP3 podcasts. The first time I try to play a podcast, I get an error message that reads, "Couldn't start playback. Problem occurred without error being set. This is a bug in Rythmbox or GStreamer." If I try to play it again, it gets the error message "Couldn't start playback. (null)"

I've allready installed the Ubuntu restricted extras package.

Can anybody help me with this? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks.

    Jim

    amarok

try amarok, I'll look into this a bit more but a lot of users have pushed to scratch rythmbox and switch to amarok as a default player anyways. Podcasts work fine for me

    gPodder works

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. After I sent the question, I read about gPodder, and installed that. It seems to work pretty well, however it doesn't like iTunes. To subscribe to a feed, I need to click on the RSS feet button. I think I'll try your suggestion of Amarok, too. It's probably better. Thanks a lot for that suggestion!

    Jim
