how do I log in to my schools network from ubuntu

ok, my schools network is inaccessible from windows 7 home premium, which is the only other OS i have on this computer. Ive got like 3 hours between classes where im stuck on campus and cant really do anything, so having internet and being able to do my work early and stuff would be really nice.

Im pretty sure I need the domain join feature from win7 pro on windows, but im also pretty sure I should be able to log in from ubuntu as well, which is why I installed it as a secondary os on this computer.

any ideas on how I would go about doing this? I dont think the schools network is viewable as a regular wireless connection, but i know its available to students on campus.

There should be some sort of tech help available from your school or webpage with instructions. Usually you'll need a password and username or some credentials supplied to you by the school to connect with. For example, I have a friend at the University of Rhode Island, and they have a handy page on connecting to the school network, which even mentions linux.
