usb dvb-t stick in lucid(10.04)
Hi all, I need help getting my usb dvb-t stick working the stick works great in windows using Arcsoft Totalmedia software, but i need to get it working on ubuntu 10.04, but I still cannot find the device in any software used, i have used mythTV and Kaffine, also have installed GXINE, DVB-APPS and W-SCAN, but when I try to add the device in the settings of any software, I cannot see it, I have very basic knowlage of terminal commands so step by step help would be good.
this is my dvb-t usb stick:-

found out that its a geniatech t680
windows drivers are:
***.geniatech.com/dwonloadf/D...s=windows%20xp[/url]
but can't even use these as not seen in hardware drivers

Hi hodged02 and welcome to the forums.
I'm not familiar with this type of device but found this for you. I hope it will be of assistance.

thanks for a quick response dapper
that only shows the geniatech t328b wonder if the t680 that i have is the same chip, if so then i guess should work with any kernel since 2.6.28, i have version 2.6.32-24-generic, so i guess its not the same chip. or should i consider changing my kernel? forgive me for sounding thick but if this is the case how would i do this, i am new to linux (ubuntu 10.04) only been using it for 6 days.

It would be my guess that if it was the same chipset, it would've already worked since 10.04 is a very current release. I did some Googling and It doesn't appear anyone is working on Linux drivers for your device at this time but that can change. It's this way with a lot of computer hardware... drivers have to be devised by the Linux community because the manufacturer won't do it. When I run into this, I will often send a polite email asking the manufacturer why they don't offer Linux drivers for their device. Sorry I didn't have better news for you.

thanks, maybe time to get on ebay for a different stick then

only reason i wanted to use that one is cause i had 2 already
again many thanks for your help
note: in terminal if I use
lsusb I get:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 04b4:8613 Cypress Semiconductor Corp. CY7C68013 EZ-USB FX2 USB 2.0 Development Kit
so ubuntu sees it but nothing else works
