Can you also post the output of the commands as requested by reed9. It'll really help to diagnose your problem.
Code:sudo lsmod
Code:sudo lshw -C network

Ok so you said:
google WG111 driver software for linux. or similar thing to this to get a piece of software that you can download and save to a memory stick then come back here and say what the file name on the memory stick is and post that.Code:Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0461:4d15 Primax Electronics, Ltd Dell Optical Mouse Bus 004 Device 002: ID 413c:2003 Dell Computer Corp. Keyboard Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 013: ID 0846:6a00 NetGear, Inc. Also you could try searching for 0846:6a00 instead both should give some results

actually, if you're just going to send OP to google, the chipset is more important, that being RTL8187L
it will be easier to see what is wrong once OP posts other commands, it could just be firmware issue, but I didn't think realtek chipsets needed firmware, also maybe module just isn't loaded
