    Hi and Welcome !

    Boot up Ubuntu and execute this in Terminal
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
    df -h
    Post output here.

    * It's small L in fdisk -l.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Try re-installing Windows 7 Boot Loader and check if it boots up fine. It's really easy to re-install GRUB2 using Ubuntu LiveCD.
    Follow instructions from here for Windows 7 boot loader reinstallation. ( I am not sure if instructions given on that link work or not. It's just a first google hit. )
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    How did you remove GRUB2? After removing GRUB2, did Windows 7 boot up by default or display any boot menu?

    Lightbulb

    i didnt removed grub2.

    i used bootrex.exe/fixmbr command after booting with windows dvd that overwrited grub2 and windows is working fine.

    after that i reinstalled grub2 from live cd but again the same problem. currently i m using windows but the data on ubuntu's partition is intact the day i find a solution i would switch on to it.

    somebody on the other forum said that in sda1 :

    Boot files/dirs: /bootmgr /Boot/BCD /grldr

    might be causing the problem but even he dont know how. so if you can think of anything from that
