Weird problem with Ubuntu
I have Ubuntu installed on a usb flash (9.10). I have the problem that, when it boots, then it happens from time to time that a signal as an upper arrow is sent to the computer. I mean, it is as if I pressed the upper arrow from time to time (every few seconds, maybe 20 or 30). I tried to disconnect the keyboard, and it still happens! The fact is that I have windows vista on this computer, and I have NOT this problem in Windows. And if I take the flash usb to another computer, I do not have this problem! I tried to test a Ubuntu 10.04 LiveCd, and the same happens with the LIveCD! I do not know what happens, since I used to use ubuntu in this computer with no problem. Maybe is it a compatibility issue, because of a update? But I tried an Xubuntu 9.10 CD and the same happens with it! I do not what is happening. Maybe it is a virus on the Bios? Does such a thing exists?
I would appreciate any help on this, since I havent found any reference to any other one having this problem. Thanks.

Is this a laptop w/ external USB keyboard, or a desktop system?

It is a desktop system. I even tried to disconnect the keyboard from the CPU, and the problem persisted.. even without the keyboard attached to the CPU.

Then there is something going on with the hardware on the computer. Windows may be doing something to deal with the hardware. Please tell us about your computer itself, such as make, model, motherboard (if not a major brand), etc.

You might need a BIOS update for this board, which BTW is no longer under active support by Intel. Here is the BIOS download page: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=2766&lang=eng
