    How can I get Ubuntu to recognise my iPod

    I have a 2nd generation iPod and my newly installed Ubuntu 10.04 won't recognise it (didn't think it would) can anyone tell me any commands to help Ubuntu recognise it?

    Get amarok and follow these instructions:

    I'm running Ubuntu10.4. I use Rhythmbox music player and it reconizes my 1st gen. Ipod as so as I hoked it up. I think it will work in Ubuntu 10.10 Good Luck

    Should be able it install rhythmbox through package manager.

    I also have a 2nd gen - a shuffle and found that Banshee is the answer. It recognizes it out-of-the-box and makes transferring mp3s easy as pie.
    No muss no fuss.

    thanks! it didnt seem to recognise it but i tried again (for a 4th time) and it does works no problems all the time now thanks.
