Ubuntu 10.04 & 10.10 installs are buggy for me...
Can't install a working Ubuntu-10.04 nor 10.10..?
When I install Ubuntu 10.04 the tops of the files windows is missing/clipped off.. and the cursor is a black "X"... I think it's intentional...
When I ask about it in the Ubuntu forums my posts are blocked on that topic.. Most of my posts in the Ubuntu forum are blocked.. like the ones of me asking "Why does Ubuntu boot faster, and shut-down faster when the Net wire is disconnected from the tower?".. Others came into the thread with the same info, but the forum quickly deleted all our posts...
When I install Ubuntu-10.10, the tops of the file window is missing.. the part with the tools: the "-,o,x" toolbar just isn't there...
I've tried five fresh image downloads, five new CDR's of 1004, and five of 1010. in my five towers.. I just can't get an install 1004 nor 1010 working properly..? I did get 1004 working till I complained...
I suspect I'm being "punished" after complaining about the indelible desktop tool window in the early 1004, that "having a toolbox on the desktop always in ones face was like always driving your car with your heavy mechanic's toolbox resting on your lap.. Me thinks I'm being punished by Kooks.. which obviously goes against "Ubuntu's rich humanitarian policy of absolute fairness, freedom, and honesty"...
________
[P.S.: I got writing this post written this far, and suddenly Firefox and Firestarter crashed right off the screen while I keyed a letter "L".. The post totally vanished.. How can I get them thar toilet-class/bully-creeps out of my machine, and keep them out..?
Firestarter's last event entry was: "Time: Sep 29 15:22:12 Source: 222.45.112.59 Destination: In IF: eth0 Out IF: Port: 3246 Length: 40 ToS: 0x00 Protocol: TCP Service: Unknown]"...
________
How do I get an install of Ubuntu 1004 or 1010 to function properly..?
And most important to me: How do I totally erase all the data off of a hd?..
There's a little 1.7-meg ubuntu partition, containing "bully-bugs" that just won't flush, even after a format with a Windows-2K CD, plus a format with a Knopix CD...
How do I absolutely 100% clean a hd?.. without "needing to sandpaper the platter"...
I'm tired of bottom feeder creeps bullying me... The Linux community is the community of the essence of the brotherhood of mankind, not a place to do terrorism and torture and bullying...
Has anyone else had this problem after complaining about something in Ubuntu..?Last edited by cosmicbrat; 09-29-2010 at 09:33 PM.

Which Graphics Card do you have? Post your machine's specs here.
You can erase data using dd command but we have to check device ID assigned to your Hard disks first. And most important to me: How do I totally erase all the data off of a hd?..
Open Terminal in Ubuntu or boot up from any LiveCD and execute this in Terminal
Post output here.Code:sudo fdisk -l
* It's small L in fdisk -l.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

My towers are old bits of junk I got of the trash, from garage sales, and as hand me downs...
It would be nice to one day be able to afford a real computer...

Output of "sudo fdisk -l" for Ubuntu 910, in the only hd I can get working out of 30.. Seems messed up... I suppose it's because of the nasty stuff in the indelible bully bug partitions..?

Device name /dev/sda has been assigned to Linux Hard disk having 40GB Size. Boot up from Ubuntu LiveCD, open Terminal and execute this
Above code will *wipe* your Hard disk and it will be blank as brand new disk. No partition table, no data.Code:sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'll try that code on a few hd's in a few minutes...
Question: When I install a dirty infected hd that has a buggy partition, do any of the boot bugs get into the memory while the live CD is loading..?

tried it...
Got "SMBus not enabled.. try force-1"... What's a force-1?..
Got to "Try live CD of 10.10, and to Terminal.. Got "No such directory as d"..? And the "X" cursor is there again..? Does this mean this tower is pooched..?
- 10-01-2010 #8It's ACPI related problem and you can ignore it for a while.Got "SMBus not enabled.. try force-1"... What's a force-1?..
Have you checked output of fdisk -l command again?
Did you execute exact command? It looks like you have executed d instead of dd.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I keyed in: "sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1"...
Is there a reason the pop-up message would read just one "d"..? Can crap in the hd, and/or in the memory, corrupt an install..? I suspect that I am being prevented from running that cleaner code.. by creeps who believe evil can steal love...
I'll try it on other towers with corrupt hd's, with both the 10.04 & 10.10 image install CD's...
I redownloaded the two Ubuntu image CD's, and still got the "X" cursor...
Next I'll download from a neighbor's computer.. I figure my IP is being targeted, because I make so much noise about how humanity is wrecking this planet... Where can I download a CD of U-1010 that might not be corrupt, like how you can get clean Windows softwares and systems updates from Majorgeeks..? Is there a way to determine if an image CD has been intentionally corrupted..?
Any ideas how a hacker could make Firefox & Firestarter both crash simultaneously the moment I keyed something they can't handle..? It would seem that "a hungry big dorkus wagaboo zombie t-rex" is watching me, pretending to be my master, from its mud-puddle, pretending I'm its toy and meal, unaware that karma is reality, and that evil being heavier than love doesn't float nor wash off...
I suppose there's a default key-logger in Ubuntu.. How do you get rid of it?..
When Ubuntu boots-up, and/or shuts-down, does it link to any IP's..?
How can you know?.. How can you disable those connections, if there are any?..

are you seeing something like this?
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
