Ubuntu usb will not boot into persistent mode
My ubuntu usb drive cannot boot into persistent mode. It was working fine till yesterday.
I get this error message:

*starting ACPI services... [OK]
*starting system log daemon... [OK]

chown: invalid group: `syslog:adm'
[OK]
*Starting kernel log daemon...

chown: invalid group: `klog:klog'
If i allow it to run for a while it comes up with the ff message:
" The GDM group 'gdm' does not exist. Please correct GDM configuration and restart GDM."
Any idea on how i can fix this. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
