Exclamation how to play windows games on ubuntu 9.10

I have dual-boot system one OS is UBUNTU 9.10 and other is Windows 7.
I don't want to use 7 now, but I have to play games like counter strike , Age Of Empire, Trackmania nations and others. So it is must to use windows.
I have heard that through wine we can run counter strike and many other games but how. I installed wine and playonlinux. Through wine I installed some windows programs like notepad++ and foxit reader who works well. I also installed Counter strike, but it does not run properly. What mistake I am doing?
Also tell me some free games for ubuntu 9.10. I installed warsow, but I don't like it. It hangs when changing maps in full screen. Then even ctrl+alt+f1 does not work.
my system configuration is amd turion-x2(64-bit)(2 GHz) but ubuntu installed is 32-bit.
    my RAM is 3GB.

Wine is good, but if you're like me and too lazy to deal with its intricacies, you could try the following products:

    Codeweavers' Crossover Games
    Transgaming's Cedega
    Bordeaux

(can't post links yet, but feel free to google them)

    Red face

no I don't want these games. I really want to know how to run counter strike 1.6 not source. the game starts and then my screen resolution changes then game goes closed. half-life runs correctly. what may be problem. It seems some graphics problem but I have installe graphics driver for my ATI graphics card. What may be problem? I am not getting solution from Wine documentation.

    akash211, according to this:
    http ://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=18484

... the problem may be exactly in ATI drivers.

But after reading reports for Wine bugs 7698 and 8025 (mentioned inside), it's hard to say definitely.

Can you post all the output Wine generates during CS launch session, please?
