    Networked Printer/Standby Laptop??

    Hi All,

Is there any way to make it so I can let my laptop go into standby that is connected to my printer and make it so that I can still see the printer from my other systems. Then if I print something it brings the networked printer/laptop out of standby and prints my job. I just ran a test and when my system went into standby the printer went "offline" and I couldn't print from it. I don't want to be forced to leave my computer fully on 24/7 to have a networked printer. Thanks!

If your computer supports Wake On LAN, you can wake it up before you want to print something.

    Just install wakeonlan with
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install wakeonlan
or Synaptic and look at the man page.

I am not sure but according to google, it does work with wireless. I've never done it, though, so you might wanna check google by yourself. Post your results!
