Movie player crashes in full screen

I like movie player since it reminds me of the Windows Media Player, which I loved.

However, when i put a song on full screen to go to bed for the night, it crashes after a few songs. Not only does it crash, but I have to do a full roboot. Alt F2 doesnt work, and I can't escape it. I'm more or less stuck in a black screen.

Is there any fix for this?

You can open a terminal and type in

    Code:
    mplayer
start playing your music when mplayer opens and when it crashes. The terminal error messages will show why.

The problem is though, I get stuck at a black screen and have to reboot. A terminal error message wont do me much good. I'll try it latter to night just in case, but I don't see how I'd actually read the message =\

You could try mplayer 2>/tmp/mplayer.err to see what the output is. It should remain when you reboot. Also, I personally perfer/use VLC for audio playback. I'm streaming jazz from wdcb/npr right now. It has worked flawlessly for the past 3 years.
