Help! These two things really BUG me...

I just gotta eliminate these two nauseating little pests...

On every bootup the desktop icons default on "keep aligned".. Oooo! I hate that!... It's like it's not my desktop... How do you kill that vile little default once and for all..?

And there's that vile little pest in Firefox.. Sometimes the whole top bars vanish, till the mouse touches it... I really really do gotta get rid of that pain in the floberskoule-crackly... How do you eliminate Firefox's top tool bars from disappearing..? And Firefox seems to own my desktop.. the desktop toolbar at the bottom is covered by the Firefox window.. and now the top bar's tools are gone..? The "-,0,x" aren't there..? Is this a bully's hack-hit?.. It's these nasty little glitches that are forcing me to dump Ubuntu, in favor of Fedora... Seems I'm running from Ubuntu like I escaped from Windows...

Not sure about the second one but the first one is a known bug, unlikely to be fixed any time soon

Not sure about what kind of Desktop you are using whether KDE (version goes here) or Gnome (version goes here).

    For Firefox fix or troubleshooting

Thanks for the advice... I tried all the things i could think of, and no results... so I'm dumping Ubuntu on all my hd's, in favor of Fedora... It's my last option, and the best option...
First I'm running DBAN Autonuke on each hd, to clean out the stucky-messes... Seems to be the way to go... Is there anything else I should know about doing clean installs..?

I don't run rpm distros since my rpm hell days with Mandriva 2010. But there is a lot of info on the web for any situations that may arise as you learn Fedora.

Fedora installed real good in two towers.. my Internet PC, and my private unconnected PC...

i tried Mandriva twice.. It wasn't me... It gave the feel of "a high powered jetsetter, going 90-miles per hour in a 30"...

I was working outdoors while the Internet PC did the 400 updates.. When I returned to the computer desk there was a warning about "attempted leakage which was blocked or shunted"..?
Is that a hack attempt?.. It's in clipboard, but for the moment i can't find clipboard.. silly me.. I suppose that's like not being able to find an itch...

This Fedora is the sweetest OS I have ever seen and run.. it's so smooth, clean, gentle, loving, functional, secure, brilliant, Genius, and Wow...

Have you written for Karma or Ubuntu..?

Nope. I have written for Antix though. Ubuntu has plenty of writers. As does Puppy.

So I being a one off type of Linux user. I write for AntiX.

Glad Fedora is working out for you. Someone running Open Suse, Fedora, or Mandriva can comment on

a warning about "attempted leakage which was blocked or shunted"..?
which is something I have never seen before on my updates (I do apt-get dist-upgrade). My AntiX distro I run as a rolling release.

    Have fun using Fedora, Rok

The only sparking up I do is kick starting my bikes and the other stuff that comes with doing that. Enough remasters out there already with

I'm gonna back out of this thread as you have solved your issues with Ubuntu by Installing Fedora. Latest posts are more of a Coffee Lounge flavor than Problem Solving. You should mark this thread AS SOLVED IMO.
