    [Urgent]Cant Boot Into Windows Only Ubuntu

    well i have made a mistake...
    ok heres the story,
    on windows i set so i dont have to wait a couple of seconds to boot into ubuntu but not i cant get into windows,

    can anyone help me with this?
    this is urgent because i need windows for a couple of papers that are already saved on there

    Tell us how you set it up for no delay.....did you edit a Windows file?

    ok Thanks for responding,
    i changed the settings in what os it boots on in windows and set it so i dont need to wait seconds until it boots. but now i cant get into windows

    it was in advanced settings and i put ubuntu first with no waiting time

    You can always boot the Ubuntu installer disc and mount the Windows partition to retrieve your missing papers until you get this mess settled. I am not familiar with Windows enough to off any advise, hopefully some one will come along and chime in on that.

    I think it might be useful for you to tell us which version of windows you are using. vista and windows 7 use a different bootloader than xp and earlier and changing setting will require different files. Also, what file specifically did you edit and what did you do? Just change the timeout?

    you can use supergrub disk to boot windows partition

    This sounds like a Wubi install ... how did you install Ubuntu:-
    boot from CD or USB drive
    just put a CD in the drive and ran the program
    something else (you need to tell us so we can help)

    ... as MikeTbob said you can boot from a live CD, mount the partition and just copy the information to a pen drive.
