Line In audio doesn't work
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 in dual boot on my iMac 24" machine. It works great except for the fact that the most important thing I need to do, I can't. I have a radio hooked up to my iMac that works great for recording radio shows while I am in the OS 10 boot mode. When I boot my iMac into the Ubuntu partition, Audio In does not work at all. If I go to the Sound preference window, there is no audio activity displayed.
I really hope I can solve my problem because I really love working in the Ubuntu environment and I can't afford to buy a PC (to install Ubuntu on) at the moment. If you require any additional info, please let me know.

Hello and Welcome.
I'm not sure if Ubuntu installs alsa by default so you may get a "command not found" error. You can try installing alsa-utils from your system repos if you get that error. Do you see the line in listed if you issue this command?
Code:alsamixer -V all

When I select linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.35-22-generic from the list and go to install it, a window comes up saying that it is going to remove linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.35-22-generic. Is that OK?
What do I do after installing linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.35-22-generic?
