Ubuntu 10.10 Stability
Is Ubuntu 10.10 very stable because I'd like to only update to 10.10 if its stable enough, I'm running 10.04 at the moment.

I've not used 10.10 myself, so can't comment on its stability. The thing to note is that 10.04 is an LTS release so will be supported for longer than 10.10. If you have a spare partition, install 10.10 alongside 10.04 and test how 10.10 performs on your system and then upgrade in your own time.

I've been running 10.10 since it came out, and had no problems.

I've also been running 10.10 on my home laptop with no issues. I'm running 10.10 Netbook remix on my Mini and it also seems stable. If you're really worried about stability however I'd recommend sticking to 10.04 LTS. They'll keep issuing security updates to it for 5 years, so you won't be "behind" really.

I've updated to 10.10 thinking it might fix a problem with my driver which I have for my belkin adapter, didn't help. But never mind about that 10.10 is fine for me I like the new background for 10.10 bit more polished appart from that and slightly more polished graphics in places I don't notice any difference.

I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix and I have been having some trouble. Some software doesn't work right anymore or is not supported (e.g. eee-control), my upgrade somehow went wrong, too, so my system is a lot slower now. I know this is rather unusual, but talking about stability this might be an issue.
At least if you're using the NBR, I would recommend sticking to the LTS. I haven't tried the Desktop version.

Yes, I think so too. Anyway, it works even though some things are kind of weird. I don't have the resources to do a reinstall, though. No backup space, no installation disk, slow internet... and I really need my netbook, so I'm not gonna risk anything anymore.
Anyway, this thread is about upgrading from 10.04, so even though my problems probably result from upgrading, it still matters for this thread..

I've been running UNR on a netbook and phullphat on a laptop and have had no real problems. A couple of glitches that recent updates have fixed. I'm happy with it, but my desktop will be staying 10.04

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
