    Problem with audio

There seems to be some problems with my audio on kubuntu. I'm very new to linux so I don't know how to fix the problem. I went to System settings and then multimedia and tested HDA intel (ALC 880 analogue) , HDA intel (ALC880 digital) , and jack audio connection kit. They all worked except HDA intel digital. So any ideas on how to fix this?

Just curious. Where you able to make a complete update after your installation?

    Try this in terminal

    sudo apt-get upgrade

    or

    sudo apt-get update.

not sure which but just in case you can also do it in GUI.

EDIT: Just re read your post re kubuntu. Not familiar with kubuntu, just the regular GNOME Ubuntu. I am not sure about GUI set-up. Just look for it if ever. Update Manager.
