Question [SOLVED] Using Ubuntu MM and Kubuntu 10.10?

Just recently became comfortable with the day to day use of Ubuntu MM and the terminal. Now I wanted to expand out and explore and use KDE with Kubuntu. From reading different materials, it was my understanding that once downloading and installing Kubuntu, that I would have the opportunity of choosing the login manager for both desktops. And I did. I chose to stick with the Gnome login during the setup and install process. Now for my confussion...

When after rebooting my system, I understood the material to say that at the login screen there would be and should be an options button in the bottom left-hand corner of the window bar. This should then bring up an options window of what desktop I would like to login to either Gnome Ubuntu or KDE Kubuntu.

Am I wrong in this understanding or has this changed with the two new releases, Ubuntu 10.10 and Kubuntu 10.10.

It seems to me that the KDE environment has integrated into the Gnome desktop and only the individual KDE programs use the KDE graphical interface within the programś window and not the whole desktop.

Any suggestions? I am confused and there seems to be no documentation regarding this in the wikis.

Found out in my own way. Kinda feel ¨moronical¨! Unlike 9.04 in 10.10 you need to click your profile and then the toolbar shows at the bottom for your log-in options.

Now does anyone know how to change the desktop font size? In KDE the font size sure is a bit small for my taste: I keep exploring in the mean time.

    KDE Menu
    System Settings
    Application Appearance
    Fonts

Begin by checking out Force Fonts DPI setting. It may just about do what you need.

Hey thanks Jippie. I just wasn’t looking in the correct place. I had been up for over 24hrs at that point.
