The Ubuntu installer will give you the option of setting up a dual boot system during the installation process. At boot time, you'll be given a boot menu and you will choose whether to boot Windows or Linux. To remove the dual boot option, you can delete your Linux partitions, and then restore the Windows bootloader to your machine.
