ubuntu 10.10 problem

Hi all
i installed new version last week .... (ubuntu 10.10)...... if i play vlc media player for around 30min it get some stuck.... i give swap area 6 gb for 3 gb ram.... any one know y its happening?

when i move mouse pointer it get move but wen i click on (Application, Places, System) it ll not show the option.... i dont know its happening because of vlc media player only.... after stucks, media not playing clearly, able to open the terminal but not able to give command on that(just opens thats it)... anything i need to be install?

If it plays for 30 minutes before giving you this problem, I think it might have nothing to do with vlc player at all.

Can be your video/graphics card. Just a hunch though.

Hopefully the gurus can give their advise regarding your problem.
