    Problem on configure monitor

    Hi folks,

    Ubuntu 10.10 desktop 64bit
    (as VM of Oracle VBox,
    host - Ubuntu 10.10 desktop 64 bit)
    24" display - 1920 x 1600


    resolution - 800x600 only

    $ ls /etc/X11/
    Code:
    app-defaults             fonts    xinit   Xreset.d    Xsession.d
    cursors                  rgb.txt  xkb     Xresources  Xsession.options

    Start "Recovery Mode"

    Run
    # X -configure

    # cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf


    Reboot

    Can't start X

    $ sudo tail /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    Code:

    Try adding supported Refresh Rates in Monitor section.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
