    Question Wine 1.2 download & Installation

    I'm very new to Ubuntu. Today is my first day.

    Issue:
    I have a USB dongle on my Linux laptop, and I need to download and install WINE so that I can install the software so that I can the USB modem to connect to
    the internet. How can I download WINE on my windows computer and copy it to my Linux laptop so that I can install the dongle software?

    Please help.

    If you have an ethernet connection available, connect your laptop via ethernet. Since laptops are portable, this is usually the easiest solution.

    Check for a linux driver first. For many USB modems, there are linux drivers available. This would be much easier than using wine...

    Everyone thanks for your input.

    I just used ICS, and shared out my ethernet port from a different computer and connected them through a crossover cable that I made. Worked like a charm.
