    Error installing Linux Ubuntu 10.10

    Hi!!!!
I finally made it to have a Live CD of Linux Ubuntu 10.10 and I try to install it over the previous installation I had (because after an unclean shut down it doesnt find operating system) and in the starting of the installation process it shows me the message:
    Warning!
    Error fsyncing/closing/dev/sda: Input/output error

What shall I do? Retrying does not help. Shall I ignore it?
Is it because I am not connected to internet?
    Thanks a lot

    Hello!

Since you are trying to install Ubuntu over your present system

...to install it over the previous installation I had
You can just install your Ubuntu 10.10 and follow instructions. You don't have to be connected to the internet first. You need a connection later when you are to update your installation.

First the error that it can't find an operating system, then an input/output error during install... this sounds like a hard drive problem to me? Maybe you should check your hard drive.
