    "Complete-a-print" option in ubuntu?

    hi guys

is there a way of completing a print job that only needs black and white ink when you have run out of colour? W*****ws calls it "complete-a-print", whereas this option is not available on ubuntu, it just diagnoses a lack of colour ink and cancells the job.

    any ideas?

    cheers

If I remember well you can opt in printer properties for a document for quality settings as well as for pure black and white, using the black ink only. You have to make that choice before you give the print command. That was using Cups as your printer driver anyway.

This depends greatly on what kind of printer you have. Refusing to print when there is no color ink is a characteristic of the printer not the operating system.
