Change Default App when attaching Digital Camera

On Ubuntu Maverick I wish to choose which application starts when I attach my Canon digital Camera. I seem to remember this choice appearing a long time ago and I chose Picasa. How can I change it to another application? It is not available under "Preferred Applications" as could be expected

    Thanks

I'm not running Gnome so can't check it, but try right-clicking on an image then choose "properties" and see if there is an option there to change the default app used to open it.

Thanks but that does not change it. I set it to F-Spot and Shotwell but it only affected the program used to open a jpeg.
