    Install Virtual Box

    I've have tired to install Vitual Box Ubuntu 10.10 and I get the message that there i s a discrepancy- "libc6(>=2.11) and of course Vitual Box won't install. Thank you for help-All

    He didn't have a problem with Virtualbox but with a game that was giving the same error message.

    May also want to reinstall the libc6 package and make sure that you have libc6-dev installed.

    You also did not specify what your system specs are or if you were using the open source version of Virtualbox from the repos or if you downloaded the closed source .deb package from the Virtualbox download page.

    What version of VBox are you trying to install? Also, is it the open version, or the proprietary one?
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

    I am running Black Ed. X4 965 AMD cpu with 8 gigs of ram in a Gigabite mother board and Ubuntu 64 bit 10.10 (Lucid amd64. deb). VB is 3.2_3.20-61806 downloaded from the offical VB site to a iso on a DVD disc.

    That is a bit dated. The current VBox version is 3.2.12. Here is a link to the Ubuntu 10.10 DEB file for it - you can download directly: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtu...rick_amd64.deb
