Ubuntu 10.04 stopped working for unknown reason
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 since almost a year and it was installed side by side with Windows 7. It was always stable and I was installing all offered updates. Two days ago, it was working normally and next morning it failed to boot.
Instead, after I select Ubuntu the screen stays black in "command screen" and this message pops on the screen:
GNU BRUB VERSION 1.98 1UBUNTU5
MINIMAL BASH-LIKE LINE EDITING IS SUPOORTED. FOR THE FIRST SORKD, TAB LISTS POSSIBLE COMMAND COMPLETIONS. ANYWHERE ELSE TAB LIST POSSIBLE DEVICE OR FILE COMPLETIONS
grub>
can someone help me to fix my Ubuntu so I do not have to re-install it??.
Thanks and regards.

You should try to "restore grub". Google the same to find more info!!
