    moving files

    I want to drag and drop files off my desktop and into an external HD. When I try this it copy's the files then I have to go back and delete them after how can I set it up so that when I drag and drop it will move instead of copy.

    Welcome!

    You can highlight your files. Right click. Cut. Paste.

    But if it's not too much of a work, it might be better to copy and paste your files and just erase them after you have successfully transferred them.

    I have learned the hard way before. I cut and pasted my files and the computer accidentally went of and I lost em.
