    Unity Desktop

    Hi All,

Anyone know if Ubuntu will allow using the desktop in Unity in the next release? I have shortcuts on right click and I prefer having one or two icons on the desktop. Also Conky doesn't work at all with Unity which is a big problem for me. Anyone seen anything??

I gather Unity will be the default. I guess there is nothing to stop you installing Gnome "classic" but I doubt it will get polish that is applied to Unity

At least in linux if you dont like one distro, you have a bunch of different distro's to choose from. If you don't like one DE or interface, you can install a different one. In Windows, it is our way or else.
