Help with Ubuntu / BIOS!
Hello! I am new to the linux community (And linux in general).
I have recently formatted my Acer Aspire One AOD250 Netbook from Windows XP and Installed Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition. However, when I attempt to boot Ubuntu, nothing happens! And my Netbook screams in terror every time I press a key (Meaning, it beeps loudly). If anyone can help that would be great...
P.s.
I am beginning to think it is the BIOS and I need some sort of linux version for that model...Last edited by Kingpug; 01-10-2011 at 09:33 PM.

Don't know what to tell you Kingpug. My Acer Aspire One ZG5 160GB Hardrive , 1 GIG of ram, 9" screen(different model than yours) running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Netbook (I run Gnome Desktop though) which is also not Ubuntu 10.10 does not
I don't think your problem has anything to do with the Bios. My Model Acer Aspire One is older than yours. I don't run Unity. And it dualboots Just fine with XP (which I left on for the Wife). Maybe a hotkey is stuck or something as your issue may be hardware maybe, though not booting up sounds like a borked install.I attempt to boot Ubuntu, nothing happens! And my Netbook screams in terror every time I press a key (Meaning, it beeps loudly). If anyone can help that would be great...Linux Registered User # 475019
