Disable Save to disk
I added the pessulus Lockdown editor and configured it to disable the Save to Disk feature however it did not work for me and I do not believe this is what I am wanting anyways. I am setting up a ubuntu based pc for a kiosk location and I want to keep users from saving files to the hard drive of the pc but allow them to save to removable media. I tried installing lethe for a deep freeze effect and it failed to open and the install file was in some other language anyways. I am running Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop Edition with 2 accounts created. One is the administrator account that I want to have full access to do whatever and the other is a "guest" account that I want to lockdown. Incidently I tried changing the permissions of the Home directory for guest and allowing access only but not create or delete and that seems to block the account from being able to do anything at all. The whole point of this setup is to be able to setup the pc and let it go and never have to manage it again. Is there any open source software I can find to do this or does anyone have any other suggesstions as to how to modify the install?
