    ubuntu not booting

    i want to install ubuntu 10.10 but when i insert the cd into my laptop and boot from it,it get stuck on a purple screen saying "ubuntu10.10" with five dots underneath it,how can i fix this?

    If it isn't booting within 20 minutes or so, download and try the alternate install. Your install may be hanging up on the video card setting, alternate install lets you set that. (1024x768 etc)
