Customize Ubuntu 10.10 Extended desktop. (One static monitor) )

As i work an administrator on a windows server environment and use my ubuntu laptop with an external screen, there is some tweaks want to do...

(Note) My laptop resolution is way lower than the one on the external monitor.

    1. I want the external monitor to be my primary screen, with panels, etc...
2 I want my laptop-monitor to show a static workspace (Where i will have a full-screen rdp-session to a windows server to monitor stuff)
    3. On my exernal(primary) screen, i want to be able to switch between other workspaces (As Normal)

If you guys can help me with some or all of these issues, i would be a very happy man(This would also impress my microsoft-enslaved colleeges).

in your x server display configuration select the screen you wat as your primary and check the box that says make this the primary display for the x screen. as for different desktops on your second screen set the configuration to separate x screen
