    mount points in linux (ubuntu)

    i am doing one academic project
    can any one give brief/good info of mount points,
    means linux partition where should be mouted ex: / or/ boot
    can we change these mount points after installing linux

    q:i have one dedicated partition 3.5gb at the end (in hard disk ),how to create one file system (ex :ext3/4... which is best) in this partition how to mount this file system to dediacated partition .

    and how to make it bootable this partition

    Homework questions aren't allowed on the forums but you should be able to search Google or some other search engine for Linux mount points to get all the info you need.

    Whether ext3 or ext4 is the best filesystem really boils down to an individual user preference. I now use ext4 although ext3 worked very well for me for many years.
