    sudo problem

Hey everybody, I am new to the forums, and new to linux as well. I've just begun to get my foot in the door with the ubuntu os, however, i've encountered a problem I hope you guys might be able to help me with. Whenever I enter a command into the terminal it requests:
    [sudo] password for wohzah:

I cannot enter my password on this line, and when I return to the next, the terminal responds that I have entered the wrong password. Even if I type my password in the short timeframe from hitting return to the error message being displayed, the terminal still registers an incorrect password?

I've searched around a little and have not found a definitive explanation, I don't know if this is a common. Answers are much appreciated and I hope I am not wasting any body's time.

    Hello and Welcome.
The password will not be echoed to the screen. Just keep typing your password and press enter when done. This is by design and not a bug.
I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
