    Ubuntu Memory problem - computer freezing

    Hi,

    I have a problem of the computer crashing when I run certain calculations. I get no error messages appearing within the programme itself, the computer just freezes and crashes.

    The problem occurs when I am running parallel, and it will crash when I am using sometimes a lot less than 50% of CPU capacity with some calculations. The calculations are well within the memory capacity, so it is not the amount of memory that is the problem.

    I have looked on the forum for the programme I am using to do these calculations, and similar posts to my problem have said it has something to do with the memory.

    Any suggestions please?

    What is the program? Which version of Ubuntu are you using? What is your graphics card?
