    Post /boot/grub/menu.lst is BLANK

    Hello Guys

    after recent Ubuntu 10.10 updates
    when restarted my Comp it showed

    Ubuntu Linux generic-pae
    Ubuntu Linux generic-pae (recovery-mode)
    Ubuntu Linux generic-pae
    Ubuntu Linux generic-pae (recovery-mode)
    Memory test
    Menory test console...
    winXp

    as Ubuntu Linux generic-pae line was shown Twice i wanted to remove the this line from menu.lst file. so when i Typed as root sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst or sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst it opened but the notpad file is Blank and empty. there is nothing in it. what could be the problem & How to Fix this

    Ubuntu uses GRUB2. so you need to plan accordingly.
