Did you reboot your computer?
I just installed this for testing and here is the info on it.
After the reboot you should find the entry for Nod32 in the System Tools folder.
If you click on the Nod entry (Not the Uninstaller) the Nod icon will appear in the top task bar. It's a green icon that looks like an eye.
Clicking on that icon will open the GUI with options to scan your pc and update the virus definitions.

If you go to distrowatch.com, scroll down on the right hand side, you will see their top 100 distro's. ubuntu consistently scores #1, occaisionally dropping down for a brief time to #2 or 3.

Linux and AV
johnhagen,
I don't think there is a version of nod32 for Linux. Anti-virus is a big should I or should I not question in the Linux world. There are very few viruses out the for linux (this might change due to the popularity Googles mobile Linux system (Android). However I run ClamAV anti virus as a gesture of good will to the less fortunate friends of mine that run windows. You can get ClamAv with a gui front-end by going to the ubuntu software center (under applications) and in the search field typing clamtk. BTW if you want to save yourself all this hassle I have my own Ubuntu derived distro (iGolaware Linux 2.0) where all these sort of things are alreading built in from the live DVD. Just google igolaware download it and burn it. It'l only cost you a blank DVD and a little bit of your time!!
