frustrating problem with wireless driver
Hey guys,
I recently switched to Ubuntu 10.10 after a vista crash. so far I love it, but havn't been able to do much with it due to lack of internet. it seems to be a driver problem. the network manager (I believe) reads "firmware missing".
my wireless card is the Broadcom 4312 and the Chipset is the b43. if it makes any difference, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 5315. I've done a great amount of research and there are apperently a ton of people with this same exact problem.
I have taken the approach of trying to update the drivers through wired connection, but that seems to be an entire issue of it's own (keeps immediately disconnecting?).
I have by the way, checked to make sure everything is still in working condition through running USB Knoppix. the wireless works fine on there for some reason.
when I first installed it, it showed the drivers I needed and I assume they were set to download once I got online. is there anyway I could download them from somewhere and manually install them? I've been working on this for two days straight now, if anyone could possibly help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Two leads
a) Broadcom.com - 802.11 Linux STA driver
b) here
It's all I got ATM
