Yahoo Messenger on Ubuntu 10.10 Help!

    Hello,
Can anyone help me on this issue?
First, Where can I download a right version of Yahoo Messenger for this version of Linux (Ubuntu 10.10)??

    I tried this:
    I downloaded this version (ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb).

I followed the steps but no luck, I downloaded and installed libssl0.9.6 and Linux tells me in the terminal window that it's already the newest version of libssl0.9.6

I downloaded the yahoo messenger ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb on the desktop.

First, when I double click the file icon to install the yahoo I get this message in the Ubunto Software Center:
    Dependency is not satisfiable: libgdk-pixbuf2 (>= 0.13.0)

Second, I tried to write the command in the terminal windows:
    sudo dpkg -i /path/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb

    I get this message:
    dpkg: error processing /path/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    /path/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb

My brother told me that I should write the path of where I downloaded the software, He asked me where I downloaded it I told him on desktop, he told me then that I should write the command:

    sudo dpkg -i /home/rhapthorne/Desktop/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb

When I wrote the command I get this message:

    dpkg: error processing /home/rhapthorne/Downloads/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb (--install):
parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/control' near line 2 package 'ymessenger':
error in Version string '1.0.4_1': invalid character in version number
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    /home/rhapthorne/Downloads/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb

Does anyone know what is this?

    Thanks.

The version of Yahoo messenger for Linux is OLD and USELESS. DON'T USE IT! (It can be loaded in Ubuntu but it needs the .rpm version and Alien) Again DON'T USE IT!

Use Pidgin. A "universal" messenger which can be used to load Yahoo.

The only possible Yahoo video and chat for Linux seems to be: Gyach-E

There's always Skype, Google Vioice and Chat (Google voice and video chat) and SIP...

Try Empathy. It supports voice and video. I'm not positive about Yahoo, but it supports them on other protocols. I haven't used Yahoo messenger in years.
