    Completely Windows-Free!

I can finally kiss Windows GoodBye now that the few remaining programs I was forced to run (w/Windows) have been replaced by ones that run under Linux. I want to add that they are a huge improvement as well. The only one that I guess I have to just dump is TurboTax (yes, I just used it for last year's tax filing). What's a good one to try? Anyone have a suggestion? I know it's early planning, but it will really put the ax to Windoze for me. Thanks!

Using Linux Mint 8 on a T30 ThinkPad.

Congrats on your new found freedom.
I've been Windows free for years and don't miss it.

As for Linux compatible tax preparation programs?
    None that I know of.
You could use the online version of TurboTax.
Works well with the Firefox browser in Linux.

The only thing that creeps me out is when I login and type in all my personal info.
But then I think of using the software on Windows with all my info entered in it and consider it a wash.

I do make sure that my browser shows it is truly a secure page and session. I even go as far as checking the security certificates before proceeding.

    Good luck and have fun!

That's what we use. There is no need for installing anything (Firefox Only) if you just use Turbotax.
