You can't run Windows XP on Wine. Wine supports
many normal apps, but it can't support an entire
Operating system.
What you need is virtualization software like vmware,
or some open source alternative. With virtualization
software you create a virtual machine, which
can support an operating system that runs within
another host operating system.
If you don't need to run XP at the same time as Linux,
you can set up dual boot. With this arrangement,
you can choose to run one OS or the other, but not
both at the same time.

thanks rcgreen but thats not what i meant.i didnt try to run xp on wine i just tried to open setup.exe(win xp installation exe in xp installation cd) on wine and i opened and i dont want to run linux and xp at the same time.i just wanna install xp as another operating system. you know when u run setup.exe(windows xp installation exe) it says what do you want to do?and there a couple options.one of these options install win xp its frozen and disabled i cant click on it.why its like this thats wat i was curious about.
i mean for example if vista is already installed on ur computer if you try to install xp(without restart and setup bios as boot from cd, i cant use this option because i doesnt see harddisk because i dont have raid drivers) it doesnt let u to install xp because vista is newer than xp and this is microsoft policy.but why same things happens in ubuntu thats what i dont understand.
thanks.

Well it sounds like you are a good candidate for Dual booting. You should install Windows first because it's going to take over your machine when you install it after Linux, you won't be able to boot Linux anymore. If you only have one hard drive then I would suggest that you partition your drive according to your needs and space constraints before installing anything. Do you already have Windows installed? If so, then you should check disk and defrag in safe mode before you continue with installing Linux, this is very important.

note:i tried boot from bios with cd for windows xp installation but it doesnt work i need raid drivers .which means i cant install with booting from bios.

Without a floppy drive or access to a USB floppy drive you have one other choice.
That would be to create a copy of your XP cd with the Raid drivers slipstreamed in it.
You can find many articles on slipstreaming drivers into XP with a Google search.
If doing it from within a XP system there is a good program called nlite.
But to just drop in a set of Raid drivers you can manually do it then recreate the Iso file by using a program like isomaster available from the Ubuntu repos.
After you create the new iso file you can burn it to a Cd and boot from it if everything was done properly.
You could also install XP within virtual box on Ubuntu. Then install nlite in that XP session and create the iso file. Then use Brasero or k3b to burn the image file.
