    [SOLVED] Forgotten Root Password

    YES, I honestly forgot my root password sad as it sounds. I can't just reinstall Ubuntu either because there are files I actually need on the computer. And I need the Root password to access the files so if anyone could help me out or something.

    Ubuntu doesn't use or set a root password by default. The root account is locked by default and still is unless you've changed that on your machine. You can check this article for more info about it:

    You know what....that was extremely helpful. Thank you very much. Now that I feel like a complete idiot, I should just stick to Debian lol I know it better.
