    [SOLVED] Brasero has taken over Nautilus!

    Yesterday I burnt a couple of CD's with Brasero. Project completed sucessfully.

    But.. now if I try and open Nautilus and go to any of my folders under Places>Home/Music/Documents, in fact anywhere, it goes straight into Brasero and seems to think I have an uncompleted project.

    There is also a box open which promts me to rename/not rename for full Windows or Linux comaptabilty. As of right now I cant get rid of Brasero and get to any folders/files.

    Anyone have sugestions please??
    Thanks

    It sounds like you have somehow munged the file associations settings and now all folders and such as linked to Brasero. Can you go to the Places menu on the top bar and open anything there?

    It's a bug in Ubuntu and appear now n then. It will soon be fixed permanently through updates.

    Temp Fix :
    Open /home/<user>/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list file and check value assigned to inode/directory.
    It should be :
    Code:
    inode/directory=nautilus-folder-handler.desktop;
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Thanks guys..

    Well I have fixed it for now. I went to on the upper panel PLaces>Computer and then right clicked
    File System and then Properties>Open With tab.

    Here there were two options Brasero and Folder, and of course Brasero was ticked. Selecting Folder resolved the problem.

    How this happened in the first place I have no idea? Perhaps linked to the bug you refered to? because I certainly didn't select it and wonder why Brasero and only braser got there in the options anyhow?

    It's a bug in Brasero only and whenever you will use it again, problem will resurface. Most of the time, Open With tab option doesn't work and one has to edit mimeapps.list file.
