It is hard to understand why you should want to install a Microsoft program under Wine, when there are perfectly adequate native Linux programs e.g. OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Symphony.

    Install: PlayOnLinux
It's available from Repository in more recent versions of Ubuntu.
    Go Install>Office>Microsoft Office 2007

I would also recommend that you install via PlayOnLinux. I have managed to install MS Office 2007 and everything works, except it doesn't allow me to put in my license number. Despite that, it still works for me. lol

I agree that there are native Linux options that are better than MS Office. LibreOffice reads and writes MS Office documents, and in fact the latest Office file format is the OpenOffice format, MS just co-opted it because it was better.

LibreOffice just apt get that the developers for openoffice as switched their focus to it and will read and write ms doc's or use google docs but i prefer LibreOffice
