    Unhappy help!! ubuntu not booting!

my ubuntu installation has stopped booting after i deleted and again created one of my partitions (not the ubuntu partition but my data partition).
but now when i switch on my netbook it says:

    error: unknown filesystem
    grub rescue>

i used gparted live to resize.

this is my disk partition structure:
/dev/sda1 20GB ( some pre-installed recovery software is in it that came when i purchased my netbook)
    /dev/sda2 100MB (it's labeled SYSTEM' with a boot flag)
    /dev/sda3 27.73GB (windows7 partition)
    EXTENDED:---------/dev/sda4----------
    ----/dev/sda6 29.48GB(ubuntu partition)
    ----/dev/sda5 447MB(swap)
----/dev/sda7 155.11GB(data partition: the one i deleted and created again)

before doing this, my ubuntu partition was /dev/sda7, the swap partition was /dev/sda 6, and the data partition was /dev/sda 7.

    thanks in advance.

The partition structure of the disk has probably changed. Please boot any LiveCD and give us the output of
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
You also may need to post a copy of your /etc/fstab from Ubuntu.

I'd agree with MikeTbob about the partition structure.
Also, I believe you have a typo in your initital post where you indicate both your Ubuntu and windows data partitions were sda7??
