Buffalo NAS
I have a Buffalo Link Station NAS. I can connect to the NAS via my browser and set up users and groups, but I can't get contact through Network.
If I open Shortcuts and select a folder, the Network icon shows in the left pane. Clicking Network opens the folder and Windows Network icon shows. When I click on the icon, eventually, this message appears -
Unable to mount location-
Failed to retrieve share list from server
I did have this unit working some time ago under Ubuntu, and then we changed IP to Virgin and have a new cable router. Since then zilch.
I would like to get things going again. Any ideas?

Ideas? Not really, except that your router may be configured so that the NAS IP addresses (likely static addresses) conflict with its addressing scheme, so it can't route to them properly. IE: some home routers use 192.168.1.NNN for local addresses, yet others may use 192.168.0.NNN, or 192.168.2.NNN, etc. Also, assuming your router also is a DHCP server, then the static NAS address may conflict with the range of DHCP addresses the router is configured for. I have 2 Buffalo NAS units (TeraStations), and when I changed my router, I also had to change the NAS IP address.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
